NytPix – Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data NytPix collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

In this document, “NytPix”, “we”, or “us” refers to Ethan Weston & Steve Edwards trading as NytPix.app, based in the United Kingdom. If you have questions, please contact us at nytpix@outlook.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Groups & names: the names you enter for groups and members, and who added each movie or snack.
  • Content: movies, snacks, watchlists, and related details such as when they were added.
  • Purchases: non-sensitive purchase receipts to unlock Premium features or extra packs (processed securely by Apple).
  • Device data & diagnostics: app version, iPhone model, iOS version, and crash logs to help fix bugs.
  • Cloud sync (optional): if you enable iCloud sync, your lists and group names may be stored with your Apple ID in iCloud/CloudKit.

We do not collect your precise location, address, contacts, or other unrelated personal data.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

3. How we use information

  • Enable the App’s core features (lists, groups, randomisers, ticket wallet).
  • Validate in-app purchases securely through Apple.
  • Fix bugs and improve performance of the App.
  • Notify you about important changes to the App or this Policy.

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

4. Where your data is stored

  • On your device: most lists and preferences are stored locally.
  • In iCloud (optional): if you enable cloud sync, your data is stored securely using Apple iCloud/CloudKit.
  • Third-party content: we fetch movie details from The Movie Database (TMDb) to power search and artwork.

5. Third parties we work with

  • Apple: App Store, in-app purchases, iCloud/CloudKit (see Apple’s Privacy Policy).

We do not integrate with any other third-party analytics or data providers.

6. Legal bases (UK & EU GDPR)

Where applicable, we process data under these legal bases:

  • Contract: to provide the App and its features.
  • Legitimate interests: to maintain security and improve functionality.
  • Consent: where required, such as for optional iCloud sync.

7. Data retention

We keep data only as long as it remains on your device or in your iCloud account:

  • Local data is deleted if you remove the App or use the “Delete Data” option in Settings.
  • If you use iCloud sync, choosing “Delete Data” also clears your synced data by replacing it with an empty file in your iCloud account.
  • We do not store or control your data on our own servers.

8. Your rights

Since we do not store your data ourselves, you control it directly. You can:

  • Delete all data at any time using the in-app “Delete Data” option or by uninstalling the App.
  • Manage or remove synced data via your iOS iCloud settings.

We do not have access to your personal data, so we cannot delete it on your behalf.

9. Children

NytPix is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, and all data stays on the user’s own device or iCloud account. If a child under 13 uses the App, their data is only stored locally and can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the App or using the in-app “Delete Data” option.

10. Security

NytPix does not collect or store your personal data on its own servers. Your information is kept either on your device or, if you enable iCloud sync, within Apple’s iCloud/CloudKit service. Security is therefore provided by the protections built into iOS and iCloud. While these platforms use strong safeguards, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

11. International transfers

NytPix does not transfer or process your data on its own servers. However, if you use iCloud sync, your data may be processed by Apple in data centres located outside your country. Similarly, when you search for movies, requests are sent to The Movie Database (TMDb), which may be handled internationally. These providers apply their own safeguards and policies to protect your information.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted in the App or on our website. Continuing to use the App means you accept the updated Policy.
